Effective August 3, 2026
The short version: your maintenance history lives on your phone. You can use Kept without an account, and if you make one, we store only what it takes to sync your data. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and there are no ads in Kept.
Kept works fully offline with no account at all. Your vehicles, service records, jobs, photos, and reminders are stored in a database on your device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. If you delete the app without an account, that data is gone with it, which is also why the app reminds you of this from time to time.
Service reminders are local notifications, scheduled and delivered by your phone. No server is involved.
An account exists to back up your data and sync it between your devices. When you sign up we receive:
Once signed in, the vehicle data you sync (vehicles, service records, jobs, parts, reminders, and photos) is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase, on servers in the United States. Access is scoped to your account: your data is yours, and other users cannot read it. Your account also carries a subscription status (free or Pro) so the app knows what features you have.
Kept is free to use. When Kept Pro launches, purchases will be handled by Apple through the App Store, with subscription status managed by RevenueCat. We never see or store your card details; Apple handles the payment itself.
Anything stored only on your device is deleted when you delete it in the app or remove the app itself.
For accounts, Kept includes a delete account button in the app that removes your account and everything synced to it, permanently. You can also email us at the address below and we will delete your account and all synced data promptly on request.
If what Kept collects ever changes, this page changes first, with the effective date above updated. Meaningful changes will be called out in the app, not slipped in quietly.
